ANGKOR WAT INTERNATIONAL HALF MARATHON

People who got involved in the Angkor Wat International Half Marathon held in Dec 1996 established the Hearts of Gold on October 10, 1998 after two years of preparation, wishing "to share hope and courage through sports."

 

Ms. Yuko Arimori, the representative director of HG designed the symbol mark and Lorraine Moller, sub leader named this organization Hearts of Gold®. Strong and beautiful heart of people who want to make social contributions is likened to "Gold medal of heart."

This tournament is a race internationally recognized charity for the relief of victims of antipersonnel mines in Cambodia, the NGO participants from all over the world and running a lot of Japanese enthusiasts, Japanese International NPO/NGO Hearts of Gold (HG)  made up in 1996. There are great international races that can run inside the ruins of Angkor a World Heritage Site, landmine victims have been more attendance.

 

This marathon event has been held every year in order to give courage and hope to people who are the victims of landmines, mankind who have not reached the century miserable again, toward the world continuing to appeal to “inhuman ban on the use of antipersonnel mines.”

 

Purpose of Event

 

This tournament is a tournament runners-sued to ban the manufacture and use of antipersonnel mines inhuman, who agree with the gist that gather from all over the world.
   

Assistance with other donations helps create prosthetic limbs, of independence, social reintegration of landmine victims and will be allocated to support activities such as prevention education and HIV / AIDS, tournament entry fees.


Not only healthy people, people with disabilities are also people who, through the run, are both in competition and inspiration of courage.

 

Provision of support from around the world to Cambodia, Cambodia is a tournament to appeal the fine and thanks.
